Default ok... Frenzy can some1 ANS This

ok.
ive read on axe spike builds that ppl say it improves ur speed of attack by 50%... from ingame... all i see is 33% and take double damage, then i read a few other discussions and people say u ditch out double damage... it just says 33% faster unless they were referring to the faster cast speed but it specifically says do double damage.

So yeh, all i know that is frenzy does 33% faster and take double damage, and penetrating blow is just 20% armor penetration not 50%

Frenzy causes your attack animation to be reduced by 33%. So for example, with the 2.0 second attacks of a shortbow, they become 1.33 seconds per shot. Looking at that across a 4 second interval:
Without speed boost: 2 attacks.
With speed boost 3 attacks.
Thus, with the 33% reduction in attack animation, you are actually going to do 50% more damage.

The double damage frenzy causes is how much you receive.

Penetrating Blow is just 20%, but you could add Judge's Insight for another 20%, and if Penetrating and Strength stack, another 16% on top of that, for a total of 56% armor penetration

Basically, ANet are illogical - rather than attacks per second (logical) they use seconds per attack o_O.
Thus 33% faster means a reduction in your seconds/attack: it is multiplied by 2/3 (a 1/3 reduction).
Taking the reciprocal converts this back to attacks/second, and the reciprocal of 2/3 is 3/2 ie. an increase of 1/2 (or 50%). Since damage it proportional to number of attacks, your damage per second is also increased by 50%.
Hope that made sense!

So then.. does Tiger Fury match this or not - guessing so..
I may still stick to it either way as I'm not a fan of receiving double damage and can't mitigate much of that as a W/R

Why shouldn't tiger's fury be used by a warrior?

Frenzy is half the energy cost of Tiger's Fury. And its a Warrior skill meaning you can take a better secondary than Ranger. Frenzy takes more skill to use properly for sure, but its the better choice in attack speed boosts for a warrior. Just make sure you have a cover stance like Sprint to use the second you start taking damage while Frenzy is up.

Tiger's Fury
PRO- same speed effect as Frenzy, but no armor penalty
CON- disables heals and spells for 5 seconds (attack skills not disabled)... but you should be using attack skills anyway when you use this, so this is hardly a con
CON- 10 energy. but less with Expertise, which benefits nearly all Warrior attack skills.

If you have decent energy management, and investment in Beastmastery (which I only recommend if you plan on using a pet), then I would argue that Tiger's is better. Otherwise, Frenzy or Flurry.

Expertise is for Rangers only. If you go RaWa, you lose the Warrior's durability, runes, and a percentange of damage off of his major damage chains.

I knew that about Expertise, and for some reason was in the R/W mindset. So, let me rephrase, if you have EXTREMELY good energy management, TF would be better.
